The Falls Church Community Service Council, Inc. (FCS), established in 1969, is a coalition of human service organizations and faith communities in the greater Falls Church area.

Thanks to the gifts our community gives – whether in time, money, or support of our mission – FCS is able to provide tangible assistance to reduce hunger and food insecurity and to assist financially with rent and utilities, helping our neighbors avoid eviction and keep the lights on.

Food Pantry

FCS maintains a food pantry at Knox Presbyterian Church which provides non-perishable and fresh food to clients in need. Clients are referred to FCS through social services agencies in Fairfax County and Falls Church City. Food donations come from individuals, faith communities, and local food drives. Additional critical food is purchased when needed as funds are available. Volunteers bag and deliver a week’s supply of food to clients.

Financial Assistance

FCS provides emergency financial assistance to individuals and families in need or in crises. Funds are available for rent, utilities, gasoline, and other special needs such as medicine and eyeglasses. Funds are provided directly to the service provider. Clients are referred to FCS from social services agencies in Fairfax County and Falls Church City.

Last year, FCS delivered groceries to 650 local families and provided financial assistance for rent and utilities to 850 families.
