Game ON: Support the Games and Online Harassment Hotline!

When our community unites, there’s no challenge mode we can’t beat. Feminist Frequency created the Games and Online Harassment Hotline in 2020 to support victims and survivors of abuse and harassment and to take down the toxicity rampant in gaming culture and the games industry. Today, the need for our efforts is ever more apparent as more survivors come forward and whistles are blown at gaming organizations large and small.

We need your support today to continue the fight to transform our gaming communities:

• Games and Online Harassment Hotline: We created the Hotline because so many games industry employees, streamers, content creators and gamers suffer abuse and harassment. Today, whether someone needs emotional support, security guidance, or further information and resources, the Hotline is here to help. Your donation powers this essential mental health service.

• ReSpec: We started a support space for people who have caused harm and are ready to engage in accountability. Grounded in the principles of transformative justice, this one-of-a-kind initiative helps individuals understand, on both personal and systemic levels, the roots of their behavior, how to take ownership of what they’ve done, and what it looks like to build accountability into the rest of their lives.

• The Help Desk: Our free consultation service for people in the games industry and gaming communities who want to bring a survivor-centered lens to their organization and create behavior change, repair and healing, and transform the circumstances that allowed the harm, abuse, and oppression to happen.

• Resources: From our comprehensive Games Hotline Online Safety Guide to our “How do I stay safe from a hate raid?” guide for streamers, to our toolkit for Responding to Blackmail, we create the guides we know our community needs based on what our Hotline users are dealing with. Help us create these tools and get them to the people who need them!

The challenges our community faces are daunting, but we say Game On! As the need for the support and resources the Hotline provides has increased, so has our response. With your help, we can provide mental health support to gamers and game makers and resources aimed at making gaming safer and games companies better places to work.
