Story

Update Hackers for Haiti continues through October!

We've heard from many of you that you're planning on playing next month and that's why we're excited to extend the event through October.

Pictured below is FOTCOH Board President, Dr. Patrick Renick, enjoying a perfect day on the green with friends!
He shared, “FOTCOH is special in that we have provided ongoing care to the Haitian people for nearly three decades and will continue to provide health and hope to the Haitian people we serve.” Read more about Dr. Renick and his work with FOTCOH here.

At the end of the month, FOTCOH will publish the pictures as we celebrate our success.

Thanks to your generous support, our Haitian patients are still receiving the high-quality health care that they so desperately need. We hope you’ll raise your clubs and invite a few friends to join you on the golf course to help FOTCOH continue providing medical care to adults and children living in rural Haiti.

About FOTCOH

FOTCOH serves 15,000+ Haitian people each year. Our American medical volunteers work alongside Haitian team members to triage injuries, treat illness, provide dental and surgical services, support women’s health, and provide life-saving nutritional support for malnourished children. Our weekly Urgent Care clinics serve approximately 25-50 patients per day and provide year-round medical support for the community. Quarterly Vital Health Clinics offer more intensive procedures and treatments and serve approximately 2,000-3,000 patients per clinic. Our Women’s Health Initiative provides prenatal care, breastfeeding education, cloth diapers, and more.

FOTCOH also leads hygiene and health programs in the community. Through our WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) Program, we teach proper handwashing techniques, provide access to clean water, build latrines, and promote proper sanitation practices.

Our clinic has proudly stayed open, serving Haiti, even amid the COVID-19 crisis thanks to our incredible Haitian team. Last year, launched our Weekly Urgent Care clinics where we treat up to 80 people per week in addition to our quarterly Vital Health Clinics.

As part of our commitment to the people we serve, 93% of FOTCOH employees are Haitian, and 40 Haitian people receive a living wage from FOTCOH each year.
