Getting outdoors more is something we all need to do, and the opportunity to raise money at the same time for the Center for the Inland Bays is a big bonus. I'm using this fundraising challenge as motivation to meet a personal wellness goal to get off my rear end (which has been sitting in my home office for over five months) and walk for health most every day. My mission is to walk a distance equivalent to the length of the entire shoreline of Rehoboth Bay within a month - that's about 50 miles. I can't actually walk the bay shoreline, because it is mostly private property or slogging through marshes. I do love slogging through wetlands, but that's not part of this challenge. Instead, I'm tracking my path along the shoreline virtually on a map of the Bay. Each mile I log gets me further (virtually) along the shoreline. Once I complete the Rehoboth Bay shoreline, I'll start on Indian River Bay - 120 miles for that one! I will be posting updates on my progress on Facebook, and occasionally including some stories about what one can see on the bay shores.
If you feel able to, please donate to my "Get Out for the Bays" mission. All donations big or small, are appreciated - whatever the health of our Bays is worth to you. And please consider doing your own outdoor activities for the Bays. You can follow my virtual walk on a map of Rehoboth at this link.
Thank you!!
Marianne
