We are a group of dedicated lawyers and legal professionals committed to providing high-quality legal services to low-income immigrants in the Galveston-Houston area. GHIRP provides zealous advocacy at every level, from Know Your Rights (KYR) presentations to federal litigation without restrictions. As a local, nimble organization, we focus on issues that immigrants are facing in our community. We use education, representation, and outreach to serve and advocate for our immigrant clients.

GHIRP’s legal services are a lifeline to immigrants fighting to tell their stories. Immigration apprehension and detention authority is exponentially more expansive, yet the resources dedicated to preserving immigrant rights have not kept pace. Changes to immigration enforcement policies and laws have eroded due process protections for immigrants. Access to safety and stability in the United States for vulnerable children and families has been largely eliminated. Legal advocates are critical now, more than ever, to protecting due process rights and ensuring a humane, accessible, and effective immigration system in which all voices are heard.
