Hello Friends.  Have you heard of Habitat and maybe thought it was something young people do?  Or maybe you've donated or attended an event?  Same here.  That's been my experience until now!

See, I turned 43 in December and am at a new place in my life.  I'm  able to be home with Grace and Santos...which I love.  But I also feel called to give and grow out of my comfort zone.  Typically, I've been really good at donating to all the causes and Amazon-Prime-ing stuff to the class, but this different.  I haven't been in the trenches, if you will.  And Kenya was never a place I thought I'd visit.  

Well, yall.  I'm in the trenches now in more way than one and have felt called to this opportunity ever since I heard about it.  I can't fully explain but it's real.  B and I have prayed our hearts out about it and he gifted me the down payment for my birthday.  It's on...I'm going to Africa to build a house, yall!!!  

Many of you know I left a dream job at the end of 2018 to spend more time at home.  I was working in the same field for all of 2019, but from home.  That came to an end in January and for the first time in 27 years I'm unemployed.  (Gasp, sweats, yikes!!)  But yall, I needed this time more than I knew.  I wrapped too much of my identity into my job and salary and needed to realign my priorities.  That's hard to admit and harder to say...but it's the truth.  I have no idea what my future holds and am just taking it one day, one step, one experience at a time. I know this will be life changing and I know I'm supposed to be there.  We'll be building a house for a woman named Faith.  She's a single mother of 2 with a disability and no steady income.  Her story is humbling and heartbreaking.  But also, inspiring and amazing.  I know Kenya and Faith will change my life.  I can literally feel it!!!
