The Harrison Happenings Community Fund was established on November 3, 2021.

In November 2019, the founder of Harrison Happenings was diagnosed with Neuroendocrine carcinoma of the stomach. A friend adopted her children to purchase Christmas gifts for them that Christmas. She was so moved by this when she recovered from her cancer, she wanted to pay it forward. However, since she could not work anymore she didn't know how she could afford to purchase Christmas for another family. She decided the best way to assist other families in need was to organize a toy drive using her social media presence with the Harrison Happenings Facebook page.

The original goal was to collect enough toys to bless 4 families. However, the toy drive was such a success that she collected enough toys to not only donate toys to the four families, but she was able to give the Harrison Mayor's Community Fund a total of 573 toys as well as send 3 large pallets of toys to families devastated by the tornadoes that went through Western Kentucky (December 2021).

The founder of Harrison Happenings didn't want to stop there so she took a leap of faith and applied to become a 501(c)(3) nonprofit this year. Now as a nonprofit, she has partnered with other local nonprofits to help benefit families, children, and pets in the community and beyond.
