For us, as women of color board members, supporting the mission of the McColl Center is deeply tied to diverse artist representation, expanding the impact of equitable practices, and promoting inclusivity. We’ve, therefore, branded our fundraising campaign as “Mocha McColl” to emphasize our support of the McColl Center’s commitment to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and our raised funds will be designated to assist with the achievement of this important work. We believe that efforts like these will further complement the acclaimed, nationally recognized artist residency program while opening the building, and our resources, to regional artists. Together, we will fulfill the vision of making Charlotte an inclusive, vibrant center for creativity.
