On April 2, 2022, a group of seasoned rescuers united in memory of animal lover, Justin Bartlett, who tragically lost his life at a young age and formed the Justin Bartlett Animal Rescue a non-profit, 501 c 3 foster-based rescue.

Through the knowledge base of these rescuers, their volunteer, hands-on experience and research driven awareness, they built the largest foster-based rescue in Palm Beach County, saving on average 1,000 animals each year. The rescue launched a fleet of two adoption shuttles and a mobile unit that went to communities that did not have access to low-cost veterinary care and performed free spay & neuters as well as vaccine clinics. The rescue launched the first free rescue magazine, Rescue Tales, filled with pet tips, adoption and fostering stories, veterinary wellness information and distributed Rescue Tales throughout Palm Beach County.

Due to the dire need and urgency from communities for low cost veterinary care, on May 28, 2015 the Justin Bartlett Animal Hospital, a non profit 501c3 hospital was founded. The hospital serves close to 30,000 patients annually and has performed over 8,000 spay/neuter surgeries.

Our Board of Directors consist of our President, Peter J. Torres, our Vice President Donald Wulff and our Secretary Janet Pelosi Diamond.

In an effort to maintain checks and balances within our Organization, we have formed an Advisory Board that consist of four community leaders; Dana Ray-FNBCC Bank, Sandi Mezeyi, Ray Delisa -Sazio, Delray Beach, and Micheal Landau-NCCI Holdings.

Our Mobile Animal Surgical Hospital unit ( MASH ) has provided veterinary care and off site spay / neuter services to several low income communities, such as; Pahokee, Belle Glades, Clewiston, Okeechobee and The Redlands in Miami.

We have deployed volunteers with hurricane relief supplies, and the MASH unit to hurricane affected areas such as Puerto Rico, Hurricane Harvey in Texas in 2017, and Hurricane Sarah in New Orleans in 2018, where we transported 63 pets to safety from Pointe Coupee Parrish Shelter.
