Let A Soulshine Foundation was established in 2022 by Trey Ganem, a custom casket designer in South Texas, in response to the outpouring of love and support he received from the community after he donated 19 custom caskets to the families of the victims of the Robb Elementary School shooting in Uvalde.

“It's not just about painting and customizing a casket, it's about helping families start their healing process." In May of 2022, Trey’s company - Soulshine Industries - donated one-of-a-kind caskets to each of the families of the victims of the deadly school shooting at Uvalde’s Robb Elementary in May 2022. He, his son Billy – and an army of dedicated staff and volunteers – worked around the clock customizing 19 caskets once they received the call to action. Not knowing where the funds to pay for all the supplies and manpower would come from, they tackled worthy project without hesitation.

In the weeks following this tragedy, Trey and the staff were overwhelmed by the thank you notes, cookies, visits and the amount of support that they received. It became apparent that this was a worthy cause and there was a big need in the community for these services and he decided to set up Let A Soulshine Foundation.

Throughout his career, Trey has made giving back his mission. In 2014, Trey donated his first customized caskets to the family that lost five children in a house fire in Edna, TX. Since then, he has donated numerous caskets to families in need. Most notably, he donated a customized casket for murdered Fort Hood US Army soldier Vanessa Guillen; he designed the caskets for the 26 churchgoers who were killed in the Sutherlands Spring church mass shooting in Texas; he donated custom caskets for victims of the Las Vegas mass shooting; and he donated a casket for slain 4 year old, Maleah Davis, of Houston, TX.
