We envision a society where individuals from Black, Brown, Indigenous, and other marginalized communities, including People of Color, are empowered to access reproductive, prenatal, and postpartum care that is equitable, accessible, and of high quality, fostering financial stability. At the heart of our mission is empowering people and communities, focusing on addressing the black maternal health crisis through community-driven solutions.

Recognizing the pervasive impact of systemic and institutional racism on maternal health for all Americans nationwide, we are committed to dismantling these barriers by empowering communities. MAAME's approach centers on training and supporting community-based perinatal health workers, including doulas, lactation specialists, childbirth educators, peer specialists, and more. Through this grassroots effort, we aim to advocate for, serve, educate, and empower communities in matters of maternal healthcare.

Our dedication extends to creating pathways for economic development opportunities, including increasing workforce development initiatives. MAAME actively advocates for improved health and economic policies that specifically address the needs of perinatal health workers and families. By fostering an environment conducive to professional growth and well-being, we strive to ensure that those on the frontline of maternal care are adequately supported.
