Okay, taking the Coalition's movement challenge to another level: we are raising money to create a dxncedxnce spectacle. A very, very disobedient, extremely beautiful spectacle. To make RI's unhoused - the most vulnerable among us - and the pandemic of houselessness less invisible. These are our fellow human beings and they deserve dignity and safety! Shame on any of us for refusing to be bold and make radical steps to provide that.
Dancing in public ain't going to change the world, until it does.
$1 = 1 second of dancing. Our goal is $1267 and that will "sponsor" 21 minutes and 7 seconds of choreographed ecstatic joy in a very surprising location. If we raise half that, the troupe does ten minutes. You get the picture? Now how about getting a minute paid down? ALL FUNDS GO DIRECTLY TO RI COALITION to END HOMELESSNESS.
How surprising? More than this ... How disobedient? WAAAY More than this ...
As a housing justice advocate and activist, it breaks my heart how so many people look away from the most vulnerable among us. Walk right past, sometimes just step right over another human being. Rather than confront the tension they feel over this visible consequence of consumer capitalism. It is time to be more aware. It is time to become responsible, accountable. It is time to MAKE WAVES.
