I came to Maxtivity in November 2018 when Lori first opened the doors, even before that. I emailed Lori before she opened the doors and went to meet her. I was so grateful that someone had the vision to open a place like Maxtivity and I was there to volunteer. I was pregnant at the time and little did I know that my son would be born on the day Maxtivity opened. It was a great day all around. I was able to celebrate the birth of my son with my family and send Lori well wishes as she opened the doors.
I enjoy everything Maxtivity has to offer. I drive from Albany because it's such a special place to me. Maxtivity gives me the creative release I need, either by volunteering, attending a class, or participating as a family in events.
I have always been crafty but Maxtivity allows me the opportunity to try new things that maybe I wouldn't have tried because I didn't have the supplies or I didn't know I wanted to try it. Open studio is a great way to use what's in the studio and experiment. I find that experimenting is really what I need. I want to try different things without judgement and be surrounded by creative people. Maxtivity gives me the space to do this.
