What we aim to solve

In the US About Every Three Hours a Person or Vehicle is involved in a collision with a Train. Our volunteers, board members, staff, interns and more all work to raise awareness, provide free education to the public and help to impact our communities in a positive way each year.

Awareness Efforts

About Every Three Hours a person or vehicle is unintentionally hit by a train and over 95% of rail-related fatalities involve a vehicle at a crossing or someone trespassing on railroad property. We rely on grants and the generosity of corporate donors to launch innovative campaigns and participate in events and activities that reach a wider range of people across our state. This includes in person and virtual classes, as well as events, but also targeted social media outreach, video creation and other resources that are free and available to the public.

Volunteer Program

We provide training, guidance, and materials to empower people to make a positive difference in THEIR communities to help prevent tragedies around tracks and trains and beyond!

Facilitated Education and Our Educator Toolkit

Our volunteers are ready and able to bring our nationally developed materials to groups of all types and ages through facilitated presentations. From youth and school groups to new drivers, school bus drivers, professional drivers, and even law enforcement and first responders all at no cost to the groups, companies and community organizers who invite us to help prevent tragedies in THEIR communities. We have also launched an educator toolkit that enables teachers, administration, and even parents to access free effective resources to help teach youth and others about the importance of making safe decisions around railroad tracks and railroad property. These resources can be used before or after a live or virtual presentation, but can also be utilized on their own.
