Napa Regional Dance Company was founded in 1988 with the mission to provide extraordinary classical dance training and education. Our instructors have professional backgrounds and have performed with such groups as the American Ballet Theater, Dance Theater of Harlem, Oakland Ballet, Ballet West, and the Joffrey Ballet. NRDC offers a year-round curriculum for boys and girls in classical ballet, contemporary, jazz, and choreography, in addition to several performance opportunities each year. The annual production of the classical ballet, The Nutcracker, is held during the holiday season, and a year-end student showcase presenting repertoire of classical and contemporary dance works is performed each spring.

Napa Regional Dance Foundation (NRDF) was formed in 2014 as a non-profit partner with Napa Regional Dance Company with the goal of expanding performance opportunities for young dancers in Napa County. We envision traditional partnerships, such as live musical accompaniment of dance performances, as well as creative artistic pairings with other performing arts groups. NRDF believes in the power of dance education to influence the lives of young dancers. Dance training teaches countless life lessons — discipline, focus, body awareness, and the delayed gratification of working hard towards a series of goals, ever increasing in intensity. Dancers also learn to share their gifts through performance.

This year, the Foundation's annual fund will support the following projects:

• Napa Regional’s annual production of The Nutcracker and the 2022 Symphony Project (Cost: $40,000)
• Napa Regional's annual Spring Showcase (Cost: $8,500)
  
• A new Marley floor for the studio, as the current one needs to be replaced (Cost: $15,000)
• Scholarships for pre-professional summer dance intensives for advanced students ($5,000 goal)

All donations go straight to the Napa Regional Dance Foundation and are tax-deductible. Each of us chooses to give to organizations that are important to us, and we truly hope that you will consider NRDF’s Annual Fund to be a worthy cause, as it supports the exquisite art form of dance and enables these young people to give the gift of these performances to the Napa Valley community.
