Never Use Alone was started in September of 2019. We were the world's first virtual overdose prevention service available over the phone.

We're an all volunteer organization, with the exception of a couple of people who are unhoused.

All of our operators are people with lived experience. We've all either been through it ourselves, or had children who struggled with a substance use disorder.

As of December 10th, 2024, we have received over 57,000 calls, and alerted EMS to a callers location over 220 times. 75% of those callers were confirmed safe. That's not to say the other 25% died. It's just sometimes we don't know the outcome of the emergency.

We pride ourselves on being non-judgemental, and never pushing treatment on anyone. If a caller expresses interest in getting help, we'll go to the end of the earth to help them. We never bring it up unless they do though.

We're also in the process of creating a national foster network for people who want to get help, but don't want to leave their fur babies.
