The Washington Architectural Foundation’s annual CANstruction competition has given more than 450 tons of food to the Capital Area Food Bank over the past two decades.
Typically, more than 20 teams come together for an all-night competition that raises funds and canned food goods for Capital Area residents.
Though we’re thrilled that 15 incredible teams competed virtually on January 24, we need additional resources to support the Food Bank and make the most impact during this time of great need.
Whether you’ve been part of a CANstruction build in the past, or are just learning about it now, will you step up to be a part of our impact this year?
We need to help fill the shelves of the Capital Area Food Bank. You can create a team and invite your colleagues to join you, or you can donate as an individual.
Why does this matter? The DC Food Policy Council reported that 16% of District residents are experiencing food insecurity on a regular basis. The rate is even higher among vulnerable populations, including the elderly, children, undocumented individuals, and unhoused individuals.
But this problem is fixable. You can help by supporting the Food Bank.
Please help us make a difference in our community! If you'd like to gather your friends to help please click the 'fundraise' button (just below the progress bar) and start your own team. Thank you so much DC community!
