Page One has been serving the Luray / Page County community since 1977. We were organized by individuals and churches who had compassion about meeting the human needs around us. Page One was created to be a central orgnization that could be supported by community and church donations to serve Page County residents facing a financial crisis or food insecurity.

Over the years Page One has grown into two locations, the central Family Assistance in Luray, Virginia, and the second in Shenandoah, Virginia. We also operate three thrift store to process and sell physical donations that support our operating costs so that monetary donations and grants go 100% to our mission programs, revenue generated above our operating costs also go into our family assistance programs.

Need in our community continues to rise, with limited places for employment, most county residents travel an hour or more to work, outside of the county. Generational poverty has also played a role within the community, with 26% of the adult population unemployed, the majority being elderly on fixed incomes like Social Security.
