Paws & Provisions Pet Pantry is dedicated to keeping pets with the families who love them by providing comprehensive, accessible support services designed to prevent unnecessary pet surrender. Our mission is to reduce barriers to pet care, strengthen the human–animal bond, and promote community stability by addressing both pet and family needs through humane, equitable, and trauma-informed practices.

Organizational Overview

Paws & Provisions Pet Pantry serves Baltimore City, Baltimore County, and surrounding Maryland communities, where many families face financial hardship, limited access to veterinary care, and systemic barriers that put both pets and people at risk. We operate with a commitment to compassion, cultural responsiveness, and community partnership, ensuring that families receive the wrap-around support they need to remain whole.

Programs and Services

1. Pet Pantry Program

Provides essential pet food and supplies to families experiencing financial hardship, illness, or temporary crisis. This program directly reduces shelter intake and ensures pets remain in their homes.

2. Temporary Foster Homes Program

Offers short-term, emergency foster placement for pets when families are hospitalized, displaced, or otherwise unable to provide care. This program prevents forced surrender due to temporary instability.

3. Animal Rescue Program

Rescues vulnerable animals from unsafe environments, provides rehabilitation, and supports placement into safe, permanent homes. This program strengthens the humane safety net in underserved neighborhoods.

4. Family Case Management Services

Works directly with pet-owning families to identify needs, connect them with community resources, and remove barriers to stability. Support includes referrals to housing, food assistance, employment resources, and crisis intervention services.

5. Vaccine Clinics

Delivers low-cost or free vaccinations to prevent the spread of communicable diseases and protect community health, particularly in areas with limited veterinary access.

6. Spay & Neuter Clinics

Supports pet wellness and population control through affordable sterilization services, reducing community overpopulation and strain on shelters.

7. Grooming Clinics

Provides basic and emergency grooming services to improve pet health, comfort, and dignity, especially for pets whose owners face financial or physical limitations.

8. Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) Program

Humanely manages community cat populations through trapping, sterilization, vaccination, and return, reducing overpopulation and improving neighborhood safety.

Statement of Need

Paws & Provisions fills a critical service gap by providing no-cost and low-cost support that keeps pets at home, stabilizes families, and reduces strain on local shelters and rescue systems.
