What began as a simple act of obedience, feeding the hungry, clothing those in need, and reaching the overlooked, has grown into something far greater than anyone could have imagined.

Standifer Gap SDA Church has long been a place of faith, compassion, and service to the community. From that foundation, a vision to serve those in need began to take shape. After reaching out to several potential leaders, it was Carla Smith who ultimately said “yes,” stepping in to help carry that vision forward.

With the support of the church and a shared commitment to serve, that early effort, feeding the hungry, clothing the overlooked, and reaching those often forgotten, has grown into a lifeline for countless individuals and families across Chattanooga and beyond.

But beyond the mission are the people.

The mother who can feed her children.

The family who finds stability in a moment of crisis.

The individual who is reminded they are seen, valued, and not forgotten.

Thousands of pounds of food and countless clothing distributions later, over 12 Donor Retailers, and a bona fide relationship with the Chattanooga Area Food Bank, the legacy of a church that chose to empower a calling and appoint a humble woman who stepped up and said “yes,” a community has a reliable place to go for assistance in the gap.
