My name is Valerie Kelso, and I am the founder and CEO of the Purple Light Touch Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to helping women and young girls heal from trauma, abuse, and the challenges that life brings.

My story began in England, where I faced unimaginable pain at a young age, becoming pregnant at sixteen, enduring my first abusive relationship, losing my second child to domestic violence at eighteen, and surviving sexual assault. Those early traumas could have destroyed me, but instead, they became the foundation of my divine calling.

When I moved to Texas in 2011, I faced homelessness and heartbreak, but I refused to let my past define me. Out of that pain was born the Purple Light Touch Foundation, a sanctuary where healing begins and hope is restored. For the past ten years, our mission has been to remind women that their pain does not define their purpose. Through healing touch, empowerment, prayer, education, and entrepreneurship training, we help women rebuild their confidence, reclaim their worth, and rise into independence.

We teach women that they can recover, rebuild, and still live a productive and purposeful life, even after trauma. From therapeutic massages and cancer recovery support to life-skills classes and small business mentorship, our programs are designed to restore the body, renew the mind, and revive the spirit.

Today, as a mother and proud grandmother, I continue this journey with unwavering faith and gratitude. The Purple Light Touch Foundation is more than a nonprofit, it is a movement of healing, empowerment, and transformation.
