Studies show that creative expression reduces stress, lowers PTSD symptoms, and fosters resilience—all critical for survivors and their children. The American Art Therapy Association confirms that art can help process trauma, improve mental well-being, and rebuild a sense of control and hope.

It fills our shelter with color, imagination, and a sense of safety—a reminder that beauty and hope still exist, even after trauma. We want to do more, bringing murals, creative spaces, and hands-on art projects into the shelter to support survivors in their healing journey.
