Our daughter was diagnosed with Crohn's disease very suddenly several years ago, experiencing life-threatening complications and causing her to miss her sophomore year of college. She is currently in remission, but is on a powerful immunosuppressant and deals with the after-effects of multiple surgeries.
I am a founding member of a small, all-volunteer 501c3 nonprofit called Propel a Cure for Crohn's Disease, which is solely focused on funding research. We are attempting to launch a very unique initiative that we think will change the course of Crohn's disease research, but need to raise $50,000 in seed money to do so. Your support is appreciated but not expected. I do hope, however, you'll take a look at this project and learn more about Crohn's disease, which affects our daughter along with at least 800,000 other Americans.
