The ALDER Guild supports the people who shape the future of pediatric medicine: the residents, fellows, and medical students training across UW and Seattle Children's and the broader WWAMI region. Our name is drawn from the Pacific Northwest alder — a tree that grows in community to turn difficult ground into thriving forest — a fitting image for how mentorship and connection help trainees flourish.

We pursue this two ways: by raising resources for the personal and professional development of pediatric trainees, and by nurturing a thriving alumni and regional community that stays connected long after training ends. As the only guild in the Seattle Children's Guild Association devoted to medical education, we exist to accompany trainees through every stage — their learning, development, enrichment, and renewal.
