We're college students, just like you.
We founded Givebutter in our college dorm room because we’re crazy and believe we can change the world.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this a paid position?
Yes! Ambassadors have the opportunity to receive up to $2,000 for their participation in the program, in addition to some sweeeeet Givebutter swag. A full list of rewards can be seen by downloading the ambassador pamphlet here.
Can I apply over email instead of Snapchat?
Yes! If you’d prefer applying over email, you can start by filling out the form above and leaving the Snapchat field blank. After you fill out the form, you’ll receive an email from someone on the Givebutter team. We’ll prompt you with three questions, which you can answer by simply replying to the email in a timely fashion. You’ll hear back from us shortly after!
Can I work at another job and the ambassador program at the same time?
Yes! In fact, we encourage it! Many ambassadors also intern or work part-time jobs elsewhere in addition to working with us. As long as you’re checking-in via our online ambassador portal once per week, we’re cool.
What are the responsibilities of a Butter Ambassador?
Butter Ambassadors are required to check-in once per week for all 15 weeks of the program’s duration. Check-ins vary from week-to-week.
Is there a required time commitment to participate in the program?
The only required time commitment is in the form of one weekly check-in via our online ambassador portal, which can take between 5 - 30 minutes per week. The rest of the work is completely optional, and on your own time. Many ambassadors simply refer their friends, check-in regularly, and call it a day. Others hustle hard and get their entire school using Givebutter, like one student did here. As with everything in life - the more you put in, the more you get out.
How long does the ambassador program last?
The ambassador program is officially a 15-week commitment starting September 1, 2017 and ending December 15, 2017. However, in the past many ambassadors have asked to continue past our typical timeframe. This is perfectly acceptable and encouraged!
What is Givebutter and how does it work?
Givebutter is a social crowdfunding platform built specifically for student organizations of all shapes and sizes. We’re a mission-driven company building a world-class fundraising product that inspires people to integrate giving into their lives. Givebutter enables people to seamlessly fundraise for any cause at the lowest cost possible to the beneficiary. We provide powerful fundraising tools such as in-depth analytics, donor management, and dynamic email sending, in addition to a suite of features such as ticketing and registration, donor matching, and an Instagram-esque social donation feed. Consider Givebutter your completely free, one-stop-shop for fundraising.
How is Givebutter different than other fundraising platforms like GoFundMe, Tilt, or Kickstarter?
Givebutter takes the best of every crowdfunding, ticketing, and email platform and puts it all in one place, provided at absolutely no cost to our users. Instead of taking a fee from the fundraiser, Givebutter asks every donor to cover a small fee (similar to a convenience fee) to support its services. Furthermore, Givebutter provides a robust team fundraising feature (similar to the one used by many Relay for Life and Dance Marathon chapters) that enables student orgs to raise exponentially more money than they would be able to on other platforms. Lastly, Givebutter Ambassadors often act as fundraising consultants for the campaigns on their campus, by providing the offline support needed to help fundraisers raise even more money than they ever thought was possible.
A lot of people ask us about our name, and how we came up with it. In short, Givebutter is a butter way to give. Our mission is to make the world a butter place. There’s no margarine for error. We’re already on a roll, but with you on our team, this company will be legen-dairy.
