Founded in 2002, The Gift of Swimming provides access to drowning prevention resources and swim lessons for underprivileged and at-risk children in Central Florida. Our work began in response to the heartbreaking reality that Florida has one of the highest childhood drowning rates in the U.S., particularly among children under five.

Since our founding, we have provided more than 108,000 swim lessons to over 5,300 children. Already in 2025, we have served 230 deserving children with over 3,800 lessons—and we continue expanding through new partnerships with local schools to reach even more children in need.

We also invite you to join us for our 18th Annual 5K Run for the Gift on Saturday, November 8th, at 7:30 a.m. We are currently seeking silent auction items, corporate and private sponsors, and participants. Please share this event and our mission with your friends and community—together, we can make an even greater impact.
