The Hustle X JRLA Detroit

This summer, The Hustle and the Jalen Rose Leadership Academy of Detroit are teaming up to bring The Hustles entrepreneurial curriculum to students during the Detroit Summer Learning Institute. Not only will these students have the opportunity to learn new skills and hear from entrepreneurs in their community, but also begin to build their self esteem and comfort in their new school environment.

To help make this happen we are raising a small amount for operational expenses (curriculum development, implementation and travel). Any contribution will go directly towards bringing The Hustle to the students of JRLA in Detroit.  Please click here to make a donation. The Hustle is a registered 501C3 and all donations are tax deductible.

The mission at The Hustle is to create a space to teach skills and provide opportunities for students who are interested in entrepreneurship and business. Students learn the first steps in building a business by identifying an area of need for the school or community and as a group creating a business that addresses the need. Eventually they will work on their own business ideas and by the end of the program pitch shark tank style to a panel of entrepreneurs. The Hustle was created by special education teacher Brit Wrightson while working at a High School in the Bronx with her friend and Forbes 30 under 30 alum, Noah Greenberg.

The Jalen Rose Leadership Academy is a tuition-free public charter high school on the northwest side of Detroit. The Academy began in 2011 and currently serves 400 ninth through twelfth grade scholars as well as nearly 900 alumni from metro Detroit. JRLA provides a leadership-focused education that engages and inspires youth to achieve at the rigorous level.
