45 & Under: Colorectal Cancer Screening Fund

Colorectal cancer is a leading cause of cancer-related deaths worldwide. While screening through colonoscopy is highly effective in detecting and preventing the disease, many individuals face barriers to accessing this life-saving procedure, particularly those who are experiencing signs, symptoms, family history, or are under 45 years old. To address this critical need, Fight Colorectal Cancer proposes the implementation of our Save the Booties: CRC Screening Program, specifically designed to provide financial support to individuals who require assistance in accessing colonoscopy screenings.

Specific Program Components:

  • Grant Funding: The program will provide grants to eligible clinics and hospitals to cover the expenses associated with colonoscopy screenings, including the procedure, prep, anesthesia, and pathology. These grants will be awarded on a needs-based evaluation and the capacity of the healthcare facilities to serve eligible patients and provide navigation to treatment.

  • Collaborative Partnerships: Fight Colorectal Cancer will establish partnerships with healthcare providers, medical facilities, and organizations dedicated to colorectal cancer prevention and awareness. These partnerships will facilitate the distribution of grants, ensuring that clinics and hospitals can offer financial support to eligible patients and deliver high-quality care.

  • Outreach and Education: Through targeted outreach campaigns, community events, and online resources, we will educate the public about the signs and symptoms of colorectal cancer, the importance of early detection, and the availability of financial support through the program. These efforts will help increase awareness and encourage individuals to seek screenings at participating clinics and hospitals.

  • Funding Request: To build this program, Fight Colorectal Cancer aims to raise a minimum of $500,000 to launch and sustain the Colonoscopy Screening Program. The funding will be used to provide grants to clinics and hospitals, covering the expenses of colonoscopy procedures, prep, anesthesia, and pathology for eligible patients. It is important to note that these grants will be provided to healthcare facilities, not individual patients.

Join us in our fight against colorectal cancer by supporting this crucial initiative. Together, we can make a difference and ensure that no one faces financial barriers to accessing life-saving colonoscopy screenings.
