The Story Behind VOWS Foundation

VOWS Foundation was born from both love and loss, inspired by the memory of Sergeant Omontre, Anya’s late husband, who tragically lost his life to suicide. Omontre was a dedicated soldier who faced countless internal battles alone, struggling with the unseen scars of mental health challenges. Despite his strength, he bore his pain silently, and the weight of those battles eventually became too heavy to carry alone. Determined to honor Omontre’s memory and to prevent others from facing similar struggles in isolation, Anya created VOWS Foundation. She wanted to build a compassionate community for those in need, especially for underserved communities, where access to mental health support is often limited.
