On a Thursday night on the brink of disaster at the turn of some century, eight friends meet at a bar. They think they can do magic. They think they can see the future. They think they can save the world. Their motives for these goals are, at best, varied.

From dusk until dawn, their beliefs in themselves, their faith in mysticism, and their relationships with one another will rupture. However, one of the most feared cards in the tarot deck tells us that sometimes things need to fall apart in order to heal.

After two successful concert readings, our team is ready to stage this show at Brooklyn's Gallery Players in March. I'm so thrilled about the group of people bringing their hearts and talents to this production, and as a South Brooklyn resident I'm so excited to share this piece with my neighborhood. Gallery Players is generously providing rehearsal space, and so our fundraising efforts are solely to pay the cast, band, and team for their work.

As a performer, I'm usually happy to sing for free, but as a writer, it's important to me that the artists performing my work get paid. All of the money raised here will go to my people — a small fraction of what they're worth.

All donors will be thanked in the program for our workshop at Gallery Players, and anyone who donates $250 or more will receive a hand-knit winter hat from me, Hannah. I have a very particular set of skills.

Blythe Road is about community. It's about helping each other even when we disagree, and protecting human life even when we don't necessarily like each other. Thank you for reading, and thank you for helping my community tell this story.
