We were inspired by the work of Free99 Fridge in Atlanta and wanted to establish a mutual aid project in our area. Milledgeville and Baldwin County face high levels of food insecurity and food apartheid, especially in historically Black neighborhoods. The Milly Free Fridge organizers are committed to using their privilege to reallocate resources to meet the needs in our community with as few barriers as possible. We use donations to cover the costs of cleaning supplies, fridge repairs, condiments and utensils, and occasional food shopping trips to Sam's Club. Your donations keep us going!
