Adam Cooper's 2nd Annual 22-Hour Workout for Veteran Suicide Awareness

WHO: U.S. Marine Corps Veteran, Adam Cooper

WHAT: Adam will be completing his 2nd annual 22-hour workout to raise awareness of veteran suicide and mental health.

WHEN: Friday, April 19, 2024 & Saturday, April 20, 2024

WHERE: Aiken, South Carolina (3605 Richland Ave W, Aiken, SC 29801)

Adam Cooper will begin his workout in Aiken, SC at 2 pm on Friday, April 19, 2024. Adam started his 22-hour journey last year and wants to continue his efforts to raise mental health awareness through fitness, which he calls "his therapy." With the challenges Cooper has experienced with his own mental health, he's quick to credit the gym as the best personal tool for both his physical and mental wellness. Cooper and his friend Lowell Koppert of the Aiken County Veterans Council and 56 Brave Apparel came together to spearhead last years' successful stair-climbing event.

As you may already know, it's estimated that 22 veterans commit suicide each day, so it seemed very fitting for Adam to choose to workout for 22-hours. Cooper firmly believes that solid change can come from doing something radical. And he's willing to do just that. Cooper wants to not only raise awareness, but also funding for one of his favorite veteran-focused organizations. This year, all money raised through the 22-hour workout will go to When Life Sucks (WLS) Foundation. The WLS Foundation exists to support veterans and first responders in the fight to heal from trauma and live well. This support includes PTSD and trauma counseling, crisis/suicide prevention and intervention, career/financial counseling, and outdoor therapeutic programs - just to name a few!

Cooper's workout partner will include his wife Cora, who is active duty Air Force.
