The Friends of the Library is the gift-giving and fund-raising arm of the library.

Because of the library’s tax status, they are limited as to what they can purchase. The Friends donate a set sum to the library for their programs, and we also donate for specific projects, like the kitchen carts, Lego kits, and the hot beverage station at the North Dearborn branch.

The library is also limited in the ways they can generate funds, so we are like the boosters of the library. Our fundraising comes primarily from 3 sources - membership, the ongoing book sale and our fall bake sale. Our membership fees are very modest, and for just $5 for an individual membership, you can say that you support our local public library.
