In Los Angeles County, over 30% of single mothers live below the poverty line, not because they lack strength, skill or intelligence, but because the systems meant to support them have failed.

The Federal Poverty Line for a mother with one child is just $21,440 a year. For 2 children, its $26,820.
Meanwhile, full-time childcare can cost over $24,000 a year - per child.
And, the average rent in LA? More than $2700 a month.

The Federal Poverty Line doesn't reflect reality - but it's still what determines who qualifies for help.

For so many single moms, life is unsustainable. It's stressful. It's lonely. But, it doesn't have to be this way.

That's why we're building Vesta's Village.

A new model that centers care, community, and financial freedom.

We're creating a healing-rooted space where single mothers can access:

Housing and housing support
Childcare
Emotional and mental health support
Pathways to financial stability and shared ownership
Volunteer hours to meet new federal benefit requirements

This isn't about giving handouts, or saving anyone. It is about redistributing power, rebuilding trust, and honoring the labor and leadership of mothers who've long been overlooked.
