Help Us Feed Our Minneapolis Students and Their Families
Hi! We're EGG (Educators Giving Groceries), a small Minnesota-based group of public school teachers and school parents providing groceries and other essentials to our students and their families. Every week, we shop, pack, and deliver food directly to 35 families. With April rent deadlines approaching, we are also raising funds to help them pay rent and stay safely housed. Because we have no overhead and are 100% volunteer-operated, every single cent of every donation goes directly to food, rent, utilities, and other necessities for scared, innocent children and families.
More About Our Community
The affected families who attend this Title 1 (low-income) public school are suffering. Their children want to attend school, but can't, and parents are unable to leave their homes to buy food or even to work, fearful of being abducted and taken away from their children.
Among these is a family of five staying in a one-bedroom apartment to save money so they can also afford dialysis for a parent in poor health. They can see one of the hotels housing ICE agents from their apartment, and are sheltering at home for fear of being separated.
How You Can Help
We've been funding what we can out of our own pockets, but it's not enough to buy groceries for ~150 people/week. Please donate and pass this link along to the good people you know, and follow along on Instagram, @mnegg_mutualaid and Facebook, MN Egg Mutual Aid.
