Texas SOUnD started as a group of classically-trained musicians in the Engineering Chamber Orchestra (EChO) at UT. We wanted to create an ensemble that explored music beyond the traditional classical repertoire. After our first semester together as a boomwhacker ensemble, we decided to expand our vision, achieving Registered Student Organization (RSO) status with the University in December of 2022.

Now, our original group of nine has grown to a family of 22 musicians coming from a variety of musical and academic backgrounds. This semester has been one of massive growth and learning as we have experimented with new instruments and techniques, played at outreach performances, and met many members of the UT community along the way.

This week, we're excited to show you what we've been working on all semester. Our first standalone show will showcase original compositions by our members, as well as music from John Williams, Harry Styles, and Coldplay. Guest stars in acapella, violin, and cello will be featured. Admission is free but this show is our biggest fundraiser of the year. Donate through this page before or at the event to allow us to recoup costs from this semester and continue to grow our organization!
