Johnnie Mercers Pier Beach Cleanup 4.18.2026

Plastic Ocean Project is joining forces with the National Residence Hall Honorary at UNCW to organize a cleanup on Wrightsville Beach starting at Johnnie Mercers Pier beach access! Join us and help cleanup this beautiful beach!

Since 2019, 2,221 pounds of trash have been removed from various accesses on Wrightsville Beach, earning almost 89 trees for Plastic Ocean Project's Trees4Trash initiative.

When: April 18th, from 10am to 12pm

Where: Johnnie Mercers (23 E Salisbury St, Wrightsville Beach, NC 28480)

Volunteers will meet to the right of the Johnnie Mercers Pier (access #16) for instructions, gathering supplies, and to spread out along the beach. Look for the flags and table!

All clean up supplies (gloves, grabbers, safety vests, and reusable bags) will be provided by Plastic Ocean Project.

IMPORTANT:
Any volunteer under the age of 16 is REQIRED to be accompanied by a legal guardian.

*A hard copy of the Liability waiver is REQUIRED to be signed in person before participating in the cleanup
