I am a senior at Danvers High School and have been an active member of DECA since my freshman year. Over the past three years, I have consistently advanced to the Massachusetts State Career Development Conference, and this year marks my second time qualifying for the DECA International Career Development Conference. Alongside my partners, Kelly McCrea and Audrey Lapine, I co-created Boss Babies, a business and entrepreneurship education initiative designed to address the lack of confidence, career awareness, and critical skills among students. Through our seven-week curriculum, participants gain valuable business knowledge, develop their own companies, and sell their products or services in a market simulation event. With over 180 attendees and 12 student-run businesses, every business completely sold out, leaving students feeling accomplished and inspired about the possibilities that business can bring to their future. After presenting Boss Babies in the Project Management Career Development category and winning first place at the state level, we have been invited to compete at the international level for the coveted DECA Glass in Orlando, Florida.
