PRAISE GOD!

We have been working for a very long time to build new facilities for the Saint Paul VI Institute for the Study of Human Reproduction. It has gone through distinct stages. For the last four or five years, it has been kind of slow-moving. A lot had to do with us not having a large enough fund to be able to put toward this building. That has, however, changed dramatically in the last year, and that is why I am writing to you at this time. It is also why I say, “Praise God!” This has been an answer to prayer!

We have nearly $10,000,000.00 now in cash specifically devoted to this building. We have purchased an existing building, which is two blocks from the hospital we work at, and will be moving from 18,000 square feet of space, which we currently have, to a facility that will have about 52,000 to 70,000 square feet of space. We now house about 50 people in a space under 18,000 square feet, so we have been crammed, literally, for many years in our current facility, and we have been in desperate need of this expansion. So, I am incredibly happy to tell you that we have now put a bid in for this building, and it has been positively received. We will have about four months of due diligence review to make sure that we have a clear idea of what we are getting into. As far as we can tell, we have been through it multiple times with our builders and our architects. They do think that this should make an exceptionally good site for our new facility and better than what we had previously planned... also, incidentally, somewhat less expensive.

So, I am very, very happy to announce that, finally, after all of these months and years of asking for your help, we will now be able to proceed. It may take us another year and a half before we can actually get into the facility because there will be some logistical arrangements that have to be determined, but this particular building should allow for this. We have been praying mightily for this, and it has taken quite a long time. At the same time, it is a really, really wonderful day for us!

We have a lot of things that are ongoing here at the Saint Paul VI Institute, which includes seeing patients, who come from all over the United States and several foreign countries. In fact, we have had patients come to see the doctors here at the Institute from six different continents, which is quite an extraordinary experience given a job that most people never thought would ever go anywhere. So, we are really excited about it, and it will make a really huge mark on this work overall. That alone is worth all of the effort.

Most of our patients come to us through referrals by other patients, which is how they end up on our doorstep. They are also referred by CREIGHTON MODEL FertilityCareTM Practitioners, people trained by us to teach the CREIGHTON MODEL FertilityCareTM System, where patients chart their cycles and get some idea of what their abnormalities might be in their fertility. They come with a need for a Catholic form of
regulating family size to the successful treatment of infertility problems. With that, we are extremely excited about this particular facility. We will be opening an expanded medical library that will service our research needs – as research is a very foundational component of what we do here at the Institute. So, I am extremely excited about this! We will continue, of course, with our Ultrasound Department, our FertilityCareTM Center, which teaches the CREIGHTON MODEL System, an exceptionally large space where we can see patients and hold teaching sessions with them, and an expanded Chapel. The name of the Chapel will be changed to the “Chapel of the Holy Family and the Little Children.” We have a large original painting of Pope Paul VI, which will be in the Chapel, along with paintings of Christ with the Little Children, the Holy Family, Our Lady of Guadalupe, etc. However, this Chapel will be quite a bit larger than what we have in our current facility and will be a big move in the direction that we need to go.

We also will have attached to this facility a space where we can actually do surgical procedures and have that all under one roof. We will not be delivering babies because that is a whole different challenge – and while we see obstetric patients here at the Institute, we do the deliveries at the local hospital. Obstetrics should be practiced within a hospital, and so we will continue to do that when we make that move (as we currently do actually). This hospital is going to be called “Christ... the Divine Healer.” It will be a “surgical sub-specialty hospital for women of procreative age.”

So, the emphasis that we will have in the future with regard to communication with all of our donors will be in the area of research and education. The research that we will be doing will be built upon the fifty years of research that I have personally put into this effort, and the multiple discoveries that we have made relative to the natural state of human fertility. What we have is way beyond anything that is otherwise
currently available, and our hope is that we can make it better and better. When it comes to infertility, we have incredibly reliable results, but we have a great need to improve those results even more. We think we can produce those results with the addition of more research along those lines. Right now, in our infertility programs, we have probably a three times higher pregnancy rate in patients who have experienced infertility
than patients who have In Vitro Fertilization at other centers (a technique, incidentally, which we do not subscribe to, do not refer for, and even experience some pain in mentioning it, but it’s part of the competition, and we are hoping that we can put them out of business). We have a lot of work to do yet to get to that point, although in many areas, our success rates right now are better than they are for IVF.

So, I am going to ask you with this letter if you would consider, once again, a donation to the Saint Paul VI Institute. We are a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, and your donation is tax-deductible. It is donors, like you, and the others who receive this letter, who have been so responsive to our needs in this work, having allowed us to move forward with this new project and will put us into an environment which is completely up
to date. It will meet the needs of our patients, our students, our NaProTECHNOLOGY® Fellows (Ob-Gyn doctors, who come for an additional year or more in training), and enable us to continue to make progress. I have no doubt that what has already been accomplished can be expanded, but it does need adequate financing, and that is one of the really important components to this.

I want very much to encourage you to think seriously about a donation to the Saint Paul VI Institute. We continue to need support, probably for a very long time, but we are anxious to use that financial support for the power of good. I pray that God will continue to be with you and your family in a very special way at this time. Let me know if there is anything special that we can do for you.
