An Arrow Shot Through Time

“This story invites the world, to remember how compassion once flowed across oceans and through pain—and how it still can.”

This donation page is for supporters of An Arrow Shot Through Time, a new documentary that is currently in production, directed by Bill Muench, award-winning director of The Artist & the Astronaut along with award winning composer Todd Hobin and co-produced by Patricia Sullivan of West Cork Productions. This project is fiscally sponsored by The Center for Arts and Learning in Montpelier, VT.

An Arrow Shot Through Time is a compelling feature length documentary that unearths an extraordinary act of generosity from 1847. Despite their own suffering after the Trail of Tears, the Choctaw Nation sent $170—equivalent to $7,000 today— across the Atlantic Ocean to aid the starving Irish during the Great Hunger. This powerful gesture of empathy forged an enduring bond between two nations, a connection that continues to inspire and resonate through generations.
