No one should have to choose between recovery and the dog they love.

But every week, people entering treatment face that exact decision. When a treatment bed opens, the timeline is often immediate. Intake can happen within hours or days. For many people, the biggest barrier isn’t willingness to get help.

It’s not knowing what will happen to their dog.

Wonky’s House exists to remove that barrier.

Our Emergency Foster Bed Fund ensures we always have the resources ready to immediately place a dog into a safe, loving foster home when their person enters treatment. When someone calls us asking for help, we don’t want finances to determine the answer.

We want to say yes.

Your donation helps us maintain emergency placements so that when someone makes the brave decision to pursue recovery, their dog has a place to land.

Why This Fund Matters

Entering treatment is one of the hardest decisions a person can make. For many of the people we serve, their dog is their closest companion, emotional support, and family.

Knowing their dog is safe allows them to focus fully on healing.

And when treatment is complete, these dogs are waiting to go back home to the people who love them.

Every emergency placement protects two lives at once:
the dog and the human choosing recovery.

When Help Is Needed Immediately

Sometimes the call comes with very little notice.

When a foster home is not immediately available, we occasionally place dogs in trusted boarding facilities for a short time while we secure a foster. This allows someone to enter treatment without delay instead of waiting weeks to find care for their dog.

Emergency boarding can be one of the most expensive parts of responding quickly, but it ensures we never have to tell someone to postpone recovery because of their pet.

Funds raised through the Emergency Foster Bed Fund go directly toward the care that makes these placements possible:

🐾 Food, crates, leashes, and supplies for dogs entering foster care
🐾 Veterinary exams, vaccinations, and preventative care
🐾 Emergency short-term boarding when time is critical
🐾 Support for volunteer foster homes caring for these dogs
🐾 Insurance and operational costs that allow us to respond quickly
