Event Summary: Self Defense with Weapons & Empty Hand : A Fundraising Seminar occurs on Sun, Aug 10, 2025 at 10:00am to 4:30pm

Description: Join us for a powerful day of martial arts training, skill building, and community spirit all for a great cause! Every dollar collected at this amazing fundraising seminar in Moses Lake will go to support the Joni's Angels Martial Arts Scholarship Program - a charity program that pays for economically disadvantaged young people to attend a full year of classes at great martial arts schools free of charge!

The seminar will be presented by Sifu Charlie Hicks, a forty-year veteran martial artist with an instructor-level background in Filipino Martial Arts, Jeet Kune Do, and Wing Chun Kung Fu, and Steve Altfillisch, a master-level instructor in Krav Maga, with a wealth of experience in self-defense against weapons. This dynamic duo will cover self defense techniques against stick attacks (clubs), knife attacks and close-range gun disarming. This the very first fundraising seminar for our new program at Joni's Angels, so we are pulling out all of the stops to make it an historic event! This six-hour event is only $60 dollars for standard registration or you can register as a V.I.P. at the $70 mark and receive one of our hand-crafted, fire-hardened Escrima sticks made by Joni's Angels. Visitors are welcome to drop in and say "hello" and make a donation. Those of you who donate at the $20 level will also receive one of our hand-crafted Escrima sticks (that you can pick up by dropping Freewind Martial Arts during the event. We only have a limited number of sticks … so get yours while supplies last. The money raised at this event will be used to fund qualifying youth students at Freewind Martial Arts for one year.
