This June, Patrick Arnold, the founder of 10 Billion Strong, will take on the Comrades Marathon, a challenging 53-mile ultramarathon from Durban to Pietermaritzburg, South Africa, that celebrates the spirit of unity and resilience across South Africa. Known as one of the world's oldest and largest ultramarathon races, it brings together runners from across the world to celebrate the enduring human spirit.

Our fundraising goal for this event is unique: we aim to raise $100 for each mile Patrick runs, totaling $5,300. These funds will support a crucial initiative by 10 Billion Strong to convene 15 to 20 pioneering energy entrepreneurs in South Africa. These leaders are at the forefront of transitioning from coal to sustainable energy sources, a critical shift as over 70% of South Africa’s energy currently comes from coal.

Through our proven leadership training programs, which have already impacted over 25,000 individuals in more than 100 countries, we equip leaders with the skills and knowledge they need to drive sustainable change. Your donations will enable us to extend this training to new entrepreneurs, helping them develop solutions that balance environmental sustainability with the economic needs of communities dependent on traditional energy sectors.
