With just 10 DAYS left of 2025, we are on a mission to raise $10,000 for our Community Outreach Program...The goal is big—but we know our community cares and it’s achievable!

We are so thankful for the DCFS Kinship Navigator Program that funded our program for the first two years where we were able to launch all these amazing services for our foster care community! Now that our contract has ended, our community has the opportunity to show how much we care as we grow our services and support for foster families in 2026! 

Community Outreach is how we show up when families are overwhelmed or unsure where to turn. It allows us to be a source of support and provide a place of belonging for families who often feel unseen and are overwhelmed in the trenches of parenting. Whether you give $5 or $100, you will be linking arms with us to support foster families and share hope where it’s needed most!

Led by our Trust-Based Relational Intervention Practitioner, Melissa Breedlove, we are honored to provide the following services:

-Homework Helpers Tutoring (a twice weekly tutoring program that provides academic and relational support to children who are struggling academically)

-Foster the Family Support Group for Foster Caregivers ( a monthly meeting for foster caregivers to connect and be supported in their journey for loving the children in their care) 

-Annual Cutz and Kicks Event (provides a pair of new shoes and a haircut to children and youth before the start of the new school year)

-Annual Angel Tree Christmas Drive (where 100+ children wake up on Christmas morning with gifts and stockings) 

-Resource Baskets for newly certified foster kinship families

-Management of the DCFS Urgent Needs Closet (This closet is available to any infant, child, or teen coming into foster care at the Covington facility)

-Tangible Goods for foster families caring for foster children (resources include things like beds, bedding, etc.)
