Revitalization of the Slick Property: Introducing 10th Avenue Grove

For over a decade, the Slick property has remained unused, once a notable site in Palmetto’s history. It gradually fell into a state described as bright yet quiet, isolated from the surrounding vitality. However, just a stone's throw away, a transformation is underway.

Local businesses have begun to flourish, attracting residents and visitors who actively support the charming mom-and-pop shops. In an effort to reclaim this space for the community, Palmetto Downtown Main Street—a non-profit technical assistance program focused on revitalizing historic downtowns—has initiated a project aimed at turning this vacant lot into a lively gathering area that fosters a sense of belonging.

Named 10th Avenue Grove, this pocket park will serve as a temporary space until the area undergoes further development. Its name is rooted in its central location, while "Grove" symbolizes its evolution into an inviting venue for connection and enjoyment.

10th Avenue Grove will feature:
