Annual Culture Impact Lab Crowdsourcing Fund by Call for Culture

Who is Call for Culture?

Call for Culture is a Black owned, woman-owned community of practice that exists to drive bold social change by raising the bar on the role of workplace culture in positively impacting people and society.  We believe that if it's happening in the world, it's happening at work and it's time to challenge traditional workplace culture that separates the human from the work.

By stepping outside of the traditional boundaries of HR, we have developed a multidisciplinary approach (The Call for Culture Method) to help companies, communities, organizations, and industries hone the capabilities and strategies they need to future proof their organization and transform them into human-centered workplaces that create social impact.

We work to get this message and application out to the world in 3 core ways:

  • Community: The Call for Culture Community of Practice is focused on mobilizing our collective strength to build a better world and better world of work through community leadership and culture building. It is designed to unite and be a refuge for social impact leaders (industry and sector agnostic) called to reimagine the role of work in society - advancing collective liberation, connecting to our shared humanity, and progressing a more equitable and just future for all. Members pay $495/year or $50 a month for access to our online community that includes content, all recorded sessions of the Culture Impact Lab, and community only access to tools and application around our research.
  • Research & Advocacy: We are at the forefront of building modern, change-ready organizations and communities that adapt and contribute to societal progress versus react and detract from it. We have a forward-thinking, intersectional, and cross-disciplinary look at the interplay between the world of work and other social systems (The Call for Culture Method®) - providing an underestimated and underrepresented conversation that impacts people, profit, and planet.
  • Annual Culture Impact Lab: Our cornerstone event, the Culture Impact Lab, is currently held annually each Spring in Chicago and aims to bring together and mobilize our community of practice. It is a thoughtful convening that offers an experiential and action learning space with a call to action to imagine more and different. View our 2024 re-cap video HERE!

How Your Funds Will Be Used:

We designed the Culture Impact Lab to be participant focused with a heavy bias towards action and outcomes - challenging the traditional conference model of creating experiences that are marketing and sponsored focused. This has made funding challenging to say the least. Although we are exploring the right mix of funding for us to keep the accessibility and integrity of the annual event possible, we hope to fund approx. 50% of the event via ticket sales, 30% via crowdsourcing (individual sponsorships), and 20% via 1 or 2 strong, values-aligned anchor partnerships and in-kind donations. Any remaining funds will be used to power our online community and research.

Fund Continued Research: Research and application of our Call for Culture Method within organizations and communities is center to empowering our community to lead change. We bring our research to the community to benefit as they lead change in their spheres of influence.

Fund the planning and organizing of the annual Culture Impact Lab:  The Culture Impact Lab is a highly curated space dedicated to supporting and nurturing individuals committed to advocating and advancing collective liberation, connection to our shared humanity, and progressing a more equitable future of all. We pay all speakers, contribute 5% of our ticket proceeds to a selected social impact cause, and support the community in which we are organizing the event through hiring local vendors, etc. Our annul budget for the event is $130,000 for 100 people and your contribution will help fund things like:

    • Internal team costs
    • Speaker stipends
    • Advisory council stipends
    • Venue space
    • AV Equipment, Printing and Supplies, etc.
    • Marketing activities
    • Photography and Videography so we can make the experience available to our wider community
    • Food and beverage
    • Nourishment activities for participants (which have included mindfulness exercises, guided walks, and a live poet in the past)
    • Continued community engagements

Fund 10 participants to join the Culture Impact Lab 2025: To ensure that the Lab and community remains accessible, we have funding and tuition assistance available via our Culture Impact Lab Tuition Grant Program. We hope to award discounted and full funded seats to people that identify with the following categories: Non-Profit or Community Leadership, Startups or Entrepreneurs in Accelerator Programs, B-Corps Current Students, and Professionals Lacking Organizational Support. Our Culture Impact Lab Tuition Grant Program is designed to support individuals who may not have sufficient financial backing to attend the lab. The grant aims to extend accessibility to individuals working in various sectors, particularly those engaged in Non-Profit or Community Leadership, Startups or Entrepreneurs in Accelerator Programs, B-Corps, Current Students, and Professionals Lacking Organizational Support.

Thank you for supporting our mission!
