Your 17^th Police District Advisory Council (PDAC) is raising funds to support the ambitious slate of community engagement activities we have planned for 2026. We would like you to become one of the many patrons and community partners that help make the neighborhoods of Point Breeze, Graduate Hospital, and Grays Ferry some of the most vibrant in the city!

As you may know the PDAC was established in 1986 to facilitate maximum cooperation & communication between the Police Department and the communities it serves. The PDAC works to enhance quality of life, improve public safety, reduce fear, and lower the incidence of crime. We sponsor block parties, hold community events, support families in need, and show appreciation to officers going above and beyond the call of duty to support the community. You can see a detailed description of some of our flagship events on the 2nd page of this letter.

Now more than ever it is important to create authentic opportunities for local communities to collaborate, engage, learn and build a brighter future. Putting on these activities takes resources, which is where you come in. The PDAC is an organization that works alongside, but operates independently from the Police department, and it is entirely funded by local community donations. The PDAC is not a 501c3, and therefore is not funded or beholden to big corporate donors. We are a grassroots organization that is funded by and for our local community.

We are asking you to make a donation to support the PDAC during our end of year giving campaign by December 31^st 2025 to ensure we will be able to continue the work we have been doing for almost 40 years! All donations will go directly to fund the PDAC’s mission via the events referenced above, and are multiplied by the fact that we are a connector organization that enhances the impact of other established and emerging community organizations.
