About the Program:
Adaptive POGOH launched in the spring of 2024 to provide access to cycling for people with a wide range of mobility needs. Adaptive POGOH operates during summer months at the Eliza Furnace Trailhead, with a fleet of 8 unique cycles, at no charge to the customer.
Rider Testimonials:
- "My wife is 86 years old with Primary Progressive Aphasia (Difficulty Speaking) and Early-Stage Alzheimer Disease along with mobility issues (She uses a cane to walk). She always liked walking and riding a bike on the trails, unfortunately now she is limited to short slow walks. The [Side x Side Tricycle] worked perfectly and it was a very pleasant afternoon with the other trail users smiling and waving as we rode by.”.- Side x Side Tricycle Rider
- "This was wonderful! Exercise has been really hard since being diagnosed with POTS (especially outdoors) and this was a really fun way for me to be able to ride a bike and be outside without the usual concerns I have with outdoors exercise.” - Recumbent Bicycle Rider
- “I LOVED this program, thank you for doing this! I am an apprehensive bike rider but thoroughly enjoy the tandem experience with my husband!” - Tandem Bicycle Rider
