Join the Kingstowne Communion and Franconia United Methodist Church this World Communion Sunday for our 2nd annual collaborative, family-friendly Rise Against Hunger meal-packing event combatting worldwide hunger, this time together as the Neighborkind Collective!

We'll collaborate with hundreds of other United Methodists to measure, pack, weigh, seal, and load ~20K nutrient-rich, easily-digestible meals, assembled of rice, beans, and nutritional supplement and costing 42 cents per meal. This event great for all ages; there is something for everyone to do.

This year, the Kingstowne Communion is responsible for funding $2,400 of the total cost of $8,400 to pack the ~20,000 meals.

SCHEDULE OF THE EVENT

10-11:30am - Joint World Communion Sunday worship service
11:30am-2:30pm - Rise Against Hunger Meal-packing (w/ volunteers rotating in and out as they take breaks for lunch)
12-2pm - Lunch available for all volunteers in the fellowship hall
2:30-3pm - Clean-up

DONATE TOWARD THE MEALS & KINGSTOWNE WILL MATCH IT

Because of additional unused funds raised at last year's Rise Against Hunger event, the Kingstowne Communion is responsible for $2,400 of the cost this year, which at 42 cents per meal covers about 5,750 meals. In order to raise our Kingstowne portion of this incredible event, we are matching dollar-for-dollar any donations given up to $1,200, including but not limited to the following donation levels, and any donations above and beyond our goal just enables us to plan and fund our next Rise Against Hunger event, with the eventual goal of funding TWO annual meal-packing events (one in the fall and one in the spring) each year:

Rice Level = $25 (equivalent to funding ~60 nutrient-rich meals)
Beans Level = $50 (equivalent to funding ~122 nutrient-rich meals)
Supplement Level = $100 (equivalent to funding ~244 nutrient-rich meals)
Weighing Level = $200 (equivalent to funding ~488 nutrient-rich meals)
Sealing Level = $300 (equivalent to funding ~732 nutrient-rich meals)
Boxing Level = $400 (equivalent to funding ~976 nutrient-rich meals)
Gold Gong Level = $500 (equivalent to funding ~1220 nutrient-rich meals)
Big Truck Level = $1,000 (equivalent to funding ~2440 nutrient-rich meals)
