Stronger Together: Empower Women with RAD Self-Defense

Every woman deserves to feel safe!

This campaign supports Rape Aggression Defense (RAD) Women’s Self-Defense Courses in Haywood County. These classes give women the skills, confidence, and community to protect themselves and one another.

Hosted by REACH of Haywood County, in partnership with the Waynesville Police Department and Haywood Community College, this program is made possible by community generosity and a shared commitment to safety and empowerment.

RAD is a nationally recognized self-defense program that teaches awareness, prevention, risk reduction, and hands-on defense techniques. Classes are led by certified volunteer instructors who help women make confident decisions about their safety and understand how to respond effectively in real-world situations.

Your Impact

Your generosity helps keep RAD low-cost and accessible to every participant:

  • $25 — Sponsor a Student: Covers class admission for one participant, including full instruction, a participant manual, and access to RAD’s Lifetime Return and Practice Policy.

  • $50 — Nourish and Empower: Provides a nourishing lunch for one participant during the two-day training weekend.

  • $100 — Support Our Volunteer Instructors: Helps cover instructor licensing, training, and certification costs.

  • $500 — Sponsor an Entire Class: Empowers 25 women to participate in the program, covering all class materials, instruction, and long-term program support.

Every contribution helps women gain more than self-defense skills — they gain confidence, community, and the knowledge that they are worth protecting.

Thank you for helping us build a safer, stronger Haywood County. ❤️
